Missed Damages – Tyres 2
When the vehicles have reached their end of life at Pivotal (usually after 18 months), they are returned back to main JLR fleet. Even the smallest cuts/grazes are rejected by JLR. The tyres must be in excellent condition or they must be replaced.
They may be MOT safe, and completely acceptable from the customer’s perspective, but the damage must be reported so the customer can pay for the replacement tyre.
Grazes must also be marked.
These tyres cost Pivotal somewhere between £250 & £400 to replace, a charge which should have been paid by the customer.
If the Ferris team miss the damage in their inspection reports, Pivotal have to pay for the damage. They cannot recharge the customer if the damage is not in the report
Even the smallest cuts are rejected by JLR when the vehicle is returned to their main fleet after being with Pivotal .
The cuts may be considered MOT safe, and moreover, completely acceptable from the customer’s perspective, but they must be reported on our inspection reports. If in doubt, report!
Mark the damage, no matter how small with crayon so it’s clear where the damage is for the person viewing the image at a later date.
