Timekeeping – Start Times

A number of discrepancies have appeared regarding start times booked by drivers on their timesheets. Please see the below examples for clarity on the time you should be booking, and charging from, on your time sheets.

You will see a new figure has been added to the daily schedule to aid with this, the start time that is stated on the schedule is the time that you will be paid from.

So if it states “07:45 at MVS” you will need to get to MVS for 07:45. Should you arrive earlier than this you would still put 07:45 on your timesheet, as this is when you will be paid from.

This also applied if you are taking a taxi or public transport to a hub. The scheduled arrival time at the hub is the time you will be paid from.

If you are travelling to a job directly from home, the start time should reflect this, ie “06:00 to customer from home” – 06:00 on your timesheet.

The above examples should not get confused when picking someone up from home on your way to the hub.

In this instance you should still be starting your timesheet from the time stated (at the hub). You must ensure that you collect your colleagues in a timely fashion to still make the expected start time at the hub. You do not claim from home when picking drivers up on the way to the hub unless this is an extreme circumstance that has been authorised by the OPS team.

If you are collecting a colleague from home, and taking them directly to a collection, then you would claim from home. Again this should be apparent on the daily schedule.

We hope this clears up any confusion.
